BARC Recruitment for Scientific Officers 2022

BARC (Bhabha Atomic Research Centre) has begun the online registration form for OCES 2022 (Orientation Course for Engineering Graduates and Science Postgraduates) and DGFS 2022 (DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme for Engineering Graduates and Physics Postgraduates) on its website, barc.gov.in, from January 18, 2022. On or before February 11, 2022, interested applicants can register for BARC OCES DGFC 2022. After registering, applicants must submit their applications by the 12th of February 2022.

Those who successfully finish the course will be hired as Scientific Officer 'C' at one of the DAE units or the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board. Candidates can look up essential dates, requirements, age limits, application fees, the selection procedure, and other information.

  • Start of online applications is January 17, 2022.
  • The deadline to register for BARC is February 11, 2022.

Programmes of the BARC

  • OCES is a one-year programme offered at the five BARC Training Schools in Mumbai, Kalpakkam, Indore, and Hyderabad.
  • DFGS - A two-year programme for Engineering Graduates and Physics Postgraduates who have passed the Selection Interviews for BARC Training School programmes and have independently gained admission to M. Tech. / M. Chem. Engg. programmes in chosen Institutes and specialities.

Criteria for BARC Scientific Officer Eligibility through OCES/DGFS 2022

  • Degree Requirements and Other Academic Requirements for OCES/DGFS 2021.
  • Only B.E. / B.Tech / B.Sc (Engineering) / 5-year Integrated M.Tech. with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Mechanical, Chemical, Metallurgical, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, Instrumentation, Civil, Nuclear, Fast Reactor Technology, Quality Assurance & Quality Control are accepted for Engineering Disciplines.
  • B.E. / B.Tech / B.Sc (Engineering) / 5-year Integrated M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 60%* aggregate marks in qualifying degree required for Fast Reactor Technology. FRT-M is an extra Training Scheme option offered to Mechanical Engineering and Chemical Engineering candidates.
  • For Fast Reactor Technology-E, a B.E. / B.Tech / B.Sc (Engineering) / 5-year Integrated M.Tech in Electrical Engineering / Electronics Engineering / Electronics & Communication Engineering / Electronics & Controls Engineering / Electrical & Electronics Engineering / Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering / Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering with a minimum of 60%* aggregate marks in qualifying degree is required. FRT-E is an extra Training Scheme option for applicants with a background in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering.
  • B.E. / B.Tech / B.Sc (Engineering) / 5-year Integrated M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgy / Metallurgy & Materials Engineering / Metallurgy & Materials Science / Metallurgical Engineering / Metallurgical & Materials Engineering / Metallurgical Engineering & Materials Science / Materials Science & Engineering with a minimum of 60% * aggregate marks in qualifying degree
  • For Science Disciplines (Physics, Chemistry, Radiological Safety Engineering, Geology) - M.Sc./B.E. /B.Sc / BE / B.Tech or at subsidiary and/or ancillary level in the case of a 5-year integrated M.Sc or B.E./B.Tech /Integrated M.Tech in Engineering. Those who choose to be considered based on their GATE Score must have a valid GATE-2021 or GATE-2022 Score in the appropriate discipline.
  • For Radiological Safety & Environmental Science - B.E. / B.Tech. in Nuclear Engineering / Nuclear Technology / Nuclear Science & Technology with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks or M.Sc. in Physics or Chemistry with Physics and Chemistry up to B.Sc. or at subsidiary and/or ancillary level in case of integrated M.Sc., and Mathematics at Std. XII or at B.Sc. or at subsidiary and/or ancillary level in All science applicants (excluding those with a 5-year integrated M.Sc. degree) must also have a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in B. Sc.
