Eligibility Criteria for DGDE Junior Hindi Translator, Sub Divisional Officer, and Hindi Typists posts

Educational Qualification and Experience

  • Junior Hindi Translator: Masters Degree in Hindi/ English or Hindi/ English as compulsory/ elective subject OR Bachelor’s Degree in Hindi/ English or Hindi/ English as compulsory/elective subject along with diploma/ certificate in translation or 2 years of experience.
  • Sub-Divisional Officier: 10th passed and Diploma/ Certificate in Surveying or Draftsman (Civil) with experience not less than 2 years.
  • Hindi Typist: 10th passed and speed of typing not less than 25 wpm in Typewriting.

Age Limit:

  • For Junior Hindi Translator: 18 to 30 years.
  • Sub Divisional Officer Grade-II: 18 to 27 years.
  • Hindi Typist: 18 to 27 years.
  • Age relaxation for the different categories will be given as per the rules.

Application Fee DGDE Offline Recruitment 2022

  • Application fee: Rs.200
  • The application fee must be paid through demand draft in favour of 'Principal Directorate Defence Estates Southern Command Pune' payable at Union Bank of India, Headquater Southern Command Branch, Pune-01.
  • Women Candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen and Economically weaker sections eligible for the reservation are exempted from the payment of the fee.

Selection Process for DGDE Junior Hindi Translator, Sub Division Officer and Hindi Typist Posts

The selection will be done for the various post on the basis of examination and Skill Tests to be held at Pune/ Delhi (NIDEM)/ Barrackpore Cantt. (Kolkata)
  • Junior Hindi Translator: There will be a written test of 200 marks for the post of Junior Hindi Translator. The Written Examination for Junior Hindi Translator shall comprise of Objective Type Test (120 Marks) consisting of General English, General Knowledge, Hindi Grammar, Translation related questions and Descriptive Type Test (80 Marks) which consists of Translation of Passage (English to Hindi and Hindi to English). The duration of the examination shall be of 2 hours.
  • Sub Divisional Officer Grade-II: There will be a written test of 150 marks of 2 Hours duration. The test paper will be bilingual in nature (i.e. Hindi and English). The components of the written test will be technical knowledge (100 marks), General Knowledge/General Aptitude (25 marks) and General English (25 marks). Shortlisted candidates will have to appear in a skill test to test their handling capability of Electronic Total Station and other practical aspects of the Land survey. The skill test shall be of qualifying nature. The skill test shall be held next to the next day (i.e.2nd) of the written test only for the shortlisted candidates who qualify for the written test.
  • Hindi Typist: The Written Test for the candidates shall be comprised of Objective Type questions of 100 marks. The components of the written test will be Hindi Language, General Knowledge, General Awareness, Hindi Grammar and Mental Ability. The duration of the written test shall be of 2 hours. The duration of the skill test shall be of 10 minutes and conducted on the computer. The skill test shall be of qualifying nature. The skill test shall be held next to the next (i.e.2nd) day of the written test only for the shortlisted candidates who qualify for the written test.
