1. WHO: New Variant of Covid-19 is 'Omicron'.

The new Omicron coronavirus variant first identified in South Africa, but also detected in Europe and Asia - is a rising concern worldwide given the number of mutations, which might help it spread or even evade antibodies from prior infection or vaccination.

News of the variant prompted countries to announce new travel restrictions on Friday and sent drugmakers scrambling to see if their Covid-19 vaccines remain protective.

2. The government of India says, Elon Musk's Starlink has not a licence to sell its service in India, asks citizens to refrain from booking satellite internet service.

The Indian government has cautioned people not to subscribe to Starlink Internet Services, which is led by Elon Musk-led SpaceX's satellite broadband arm Starlink.

The government is doing so because the internet service is not licensed yet to offer satellite-based internet services in India.

Department of Telecom has also directed Starlink to comply with regulatory framework to offer satellite-based communication services.

Department has also directed Starlink to refrain from booking or rendering the satellite internet services with immediate effect.

3. 25% of Indian poor on MPI metric, says NITI Aayog report

NITI Aayog published its report on India's "Multidimensional Poverty Index" (MPI) recently. MPI identifies about 25% of Indian population as multidimensional poor.

The report was prepared on the basis of the National Family Health Survey (NFHS) for 2015-16.

As per the NITI Aayog's report, in year 2015-16, one in every four people in India was multidimensional poor. It accounts that, 25.01% of the population was multidimensional poor.

4. Delhi Government adds Kartarpur Sahib to Mukhyamantri Tirth Yatra Yojna

The Delhi government announced to add Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan and Velenkanni Church in Tamilnadu to its pilgrimage scheme called "Mukhyamantri Tirth Yatra Yojna" on November 26, 2021.

As per the announcement, Delhi Government will send the first batch of senior citizens of the city on free pilgrimage to Kartarpur Sahib on January 5, 2021.

The First batch of pilgrimage to Velenkanni Church will leave on January 7, 2022.

The Delhi government also decided to add two more routes, apart from existing 13 yatra routes. The two routes are: Delhi - Velenkanni - Delhi and Delhi - Kartarpur Sahib - Delhi.

The devotees will travel on Delhi - Velenkanni - Delhi route in AC-III trains while for Kartarpur Sahib, they will go in air-conditioned buses.

5. Minister of State (MoS) for Ayush, Munjpara Mahedrabhi, virtually inaugurated the Ayurveda Parv-2021 on November 26, 2021, in New Delhi

Minister of State (MoS) for Ayush, Munjpara Mahendrabhai, virtually inaugurated the Ayurveda Parv-2021 on November 26, 2021 in New Delhi.

Ayurveda Parva is a three day event, which is being organised to promote Ayurveda.

Under the event, the exhibition has been arranged  comprising 40 stalls besides the participation of pharmaceutical companies.

This event has been organised for the proper utilization of Ayurvedic health care as well as for coordination and better utilization of Ayurvedic education, research and manufacturing of medicines.

6. Madhya Pradesh's Minto hall renamed as Kushbhau Thakre hall.

Addressing BJP leaders in a state executive committee meeting, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said: " It's our land, our soil, our stone, our building and hard work of our labourer but the name is of Minto.

Many MLA reached this assembly with the Thakre Ji who empowered the party (BJP) in Madhya Pradesh so now it will be named after Thakre Ji.

Minto Hall was constructed in 1909 by Nawab Sultan Jahan Begum. The Fourth and last Begum of Bhopal named the heritage building as "Minto Hall" to facilitate lord Minto, the then Viceroy of India.

Minto Hall was used as the state legislative assembly hall after India gained independence.

7. World tallest railway bridge pier to come up in Manipur.

The Indian Railways is constructing the world's tallest bridge pier in Manipur which is a part of the 111 km long Jiribam - Imphal railway project.

The bridge, which is built at a pier height of 141 meters will surpass the existing record of 139 meters of Mala - Rijeka viadust, Montengero in Europe.

"With the completion of the project, the 111 km of distance will be covered in 2 - 2.5 hours. Presently, the distance between Jiribam - Imphal (NH-37) is 220 km, which took about 10-12 hours of travelling. After the construction, the bridge crossing the Noney valley will become the world's height pier bridge," Sandeep Sharma, Cheif Engineer of the projecttold ANI.

8. National Organ Donor Day is celebrated on November 27, 2021

In India, "The National Organ Donor Day" is observed every year on 27 November for the past 10 years.

The day aims to promote awareness and recognise the selfless contribution made by deceased donors to healthcare and mankind re-instill our faith in humanity. 2021 marks the 12th National Organ Donor Day.

It is organised by the National Organ & Tissue Transplant Organization (NOTTO) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The Union Ministry of Tourism is organising a three day India International Tourism Mart in Nagaland from 27 November 2021 to 29 November 2021.

The annual tourism mart aims to highlight the tourism potential of the northern region of India both domestic and international markets.

The tourism mart is in continuation to the 'Tourism and Culture Ministers' Conference of North Eastern Region, which was held in Assam in September 2021.

The event aim to deliberate and discuss the way forward for tourism in the North-Eastern region.

The mart will be jointly inaugurated by Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Minister of State for Tourism and Defence, Ajay Bhatt.

Squash star Saurav Ghosal made history on Saturday as he became the first Indian to win the Malaysian Open Championship after beating Miguel Rodriguez in the men's singles final.

The second-seeded Ghosal, often regarded as the face of Indian squash, outclass top seed Rodriguez of Colombia 11-7, 11-8 and 13-11 in 55 minutes to become the first from his country to be crowned champion at prestigious tournament .
